Which color of shoe should I buy?

I am investing in a pair of Dr. Martens Fisherman sandals but can't decide on black or brown. I will be wearing these with a couple pairs of lighter colored shorts, from toffee color to khaki. Also A pair of dark brown and dark grey shorts, as well as some blue jeans. I am leaning towards brown because I think that would match everything better, but I really like the black ones. Which ones do you think would be appropriate?
