Question for economics experts?

hi there, i read today's headline news indicate that arab countries r discussing about moving oil price in terms of US dollar to a basket of currencies; y r they changing to a basket of currencies? also, will commodity producing countries such as australia will also change to a different currencies? y r these experts make such decision given that US dollar is a reserve currency? thanks for ur answers
