What does it take to become a director?

So this sounds pretty cheesy but my dream is to become a movie director and screenwriter I looked at some school and so far I like the art institue of L.A. And the academy of art in San Fran. But when I graduate high school can I just go to those skools rite away or should I wait?? And wat requirments do I need like I already kno I need to have a 2.0 gpa and take all the required cles to graduate but do I need something else?? And how hard do u think it will b to actually go to Hollywood and make a film one day (for me that s) ?????
